Please let me know if you are interested in submitting an application for this prize. I might be interested in finding a student who wants to collaborate on this, or you can do it on your own, or with a different faculty. But I think that product designers will have an advantage here, because the fellowship was established by Smart Design, and they might prefer to someone from their own field get the prize.

Michael Kalil Endowment for Smart Design
The mission of the Michael Kalil Endowment for Smart Design is twofold: to foster the understanding of the design intersections between nature and technology and to support a heightened sense of responsibility for increasing the sustainability of built environments.
Three $5000 Fellowship Project Grants are given annually:
•The Student Grant supports the project of an undergraduate or graduate student currently studying at Parsons, The New School for Design.
•The Scholar/Practitioner Grant supports the project of a current faculty member or group of faculty members from any New School division, or an outside scholar/scholar group, or a practitioner from within any design field.
•The Collaborative Team Grant supports the project of a team of Parsons students working in collaboration from within three or more of the five Schools of Parsons the New School for Design. The five Schools are: The School of Art and Design History and Theory; The School of Art, Media, and Technology; The School of Fashion; The School of Constructed Environments; The School of Design Strategies.
