Big Question:
What potential is there for a mundane and highly available material like concrete? What kind of process cans a material like this go through and what can it become?
Sub Questions:
-What is being with this material?
-What has been done with it in the past?
-What processes have we moved pass?
-What has not been tried?
-How easy or hard is it to manipulate it?
-What can it be applied to?
-How do you stay true to the material?
-What forms can it take on?
-How light can it get?
andrew,
ReplyDeletethis is a very interesting topic. Concrete is an amazing material, and there are a lot of imaginative ways to manipulate the formula. http://www.litracon.hu/ is a site that discusses translucent concrete, and http://www.nationalbuildingmuseum.net/liquid_stone/home.html is from an exhibition about new ways to use concrete. I would like to speak with you about this tomorrow in class if possible. Please sign up for a meeting or come and find me.
